local white guy rambles for 3 minutes about websites bogging down hardware

I don't like how bloated the web has become as of late. The main laptop I currently use (not my Steam Deck) struggles with most web pages. You could factor that to its age, but it's only 5-years-old! Stuff back in the day lasted waaay longer with websites. To be fair, back in the day, websites didn't use a lot of JavaScript for things, which I do miss. I get why JavaScript is used in modern websites, but when you're scrolling down on a web page and it is visibly chugging frames? Yeah, no.

I use uBlock Origin consistently. I don't have a lot of demanding add-ons in the background or anything.

This is partly one of the reasons why I chose simple.css to be the main theme of this static site. It does the job. A bit of piz-zazz, compared to not having any CSS in the slightest.

Not really sure as to where I'm going with this, just wanted to rant a wee bit. That felt good. Fast loading websites my beloved <3
